Community garden hosts plant sale as fundraiser

June 10th | Fundraiser

Are you a parent or guardian of an adolescent or older interested in empowering and educating other parents?

Deschutes County is recruiting Parent Facilitators for our Connect Workshops – connecting parents to parents, parents to resources, and parents to their adolescent children.

The Connect Workshop is a two-hour workshop for parents and guardians to learn factual, unbiased information and skills to start difficult conversations with their kids. The workshops cover adolescent brain development, adolescent substance use, and other risky behaviors with the overall goal to increase parent-child dialogue among all topics.

The Parent Facilitators co-facilitate the workshop with a Public Health staff member from Deschutes County Prevention and Health Promotion.

If you are interested in applying or would like more information, you can contact Heather Stuart at (541) 388-6606 or [email protected].

Parent Facilitators are paid for their training, prep time, and facilitation. Parent Facilitators must submit at least 2 professional references and pass a background check. Parent Facilitators must be able to follow the Connect Workshop facilitators guide.
