What We Do / Our Goal / Description Header

In May 2019, the City of Sisters joined a committed and pioneering group of global communities who are working to enhance the lives of people of all ages and abilities. Becoming an Age Friendly Community is one of the strategies identified in the Sisters Country Vision, and membership in the WHO/AARP Global Network for Age-Friendly Cities and Communities is an important accomplishment. Sisters is a leader, one of 8 cities in Oregon and the only community east of the Cascades to be part of the Age Friendly network and we join a worldwide effort to ensure a more livable community for everyone.
