Community garden hosts plant sale as fundraiser

June 10th | Fundraiser

The Community Builders Food Security Committee is excited to announce that Family Kitchen will begin serving a weekly hot meal on Tuesdays for the Sisters Country community on October 26th.

This program is open to anyone in the community and no personal information is required to be shared in order to receive a meal. Due to the current pandemic, meals will be served in a Grab-and-Go format until Covid restrictions have been lifted. Meals will be served at the Sisters Community Church, which has generously agreed to share their space to bring this needed program to the community and can be picked up between 4:30pm-6:30pm.

Guided by the belief that nobody should go hungry, Family Kitchen, based in Bend, has been providing free meals since 1986. Their mission is “To serve anyone who needs a nutritious meal in a safe and caring environment.” In 2020, they ensured folks had full stomachs by serving an astounding 63, 233 meals.
